From the moment I started reading this book, I couldn't stop. During the few hours it took me to complete the 190 pages (although it is a hardcover book, it is approximately the size of a trade paperback), I was crying almost the entire time. It has been a long time since a book has effected me this way The Santa Letters did.

This is the tragic story of the Jensen family - Emma and her four children - and how they recovered after the death of a husband and father.

William Jensen was killed on Christmas Eve, and the following year was full of depression and hopelessness for the remaining family. But as the one year anniversary was fast approaching, a mysterious letter from "Santa Claus" appears on their doorstep, the family is transformed through a heartwarming 12 day journey to recovery.

In the same unforgettable style of The Christmas Box and The Gift, The Santa Letters is destined to become a Christmas classic. This uplifting story captures the true essence of the holiday season by reminding us of the very first Christmas.

I highly recommend this book to anyone with a love of memorable Christmas stories, especially for persons who associate the holidays with personal tragedies. This is the perfect story to read to children during this magical time of year.

(Note: This book is heavily woven with the ideas and beliefs of the Christian faith.)
